Descent makes companies AI-native. We led GoTyme's AI transformation end to end: more than 70 agentic systems into production at a $1.5bn digital bank, an AI team grown from 3 to 37, and 1,600+ people trained to work with AI. The role

Your job is to make our clients AI-native: every department working with AI daily, on workflows that matter, with tools built around how they actually operate.

It starts in the classroom. You deliver our AI enablement curriculum, a multi-session course built on a proven pedagogy: intuition, live demo, hands-on exercise, concept.

While you teach, you learn the business: how each department works, where the problems are, what the work really looks like. You turn that into an opportunity map. Some of it we solve by tailoring Claude around the team: Skills, plugins, context files that encode how the business operates, connections into tools like Slack. Some of it needs more, and our engineers build custom AI applications on top: a proposal generator for sales, a reporting tool for finance, a triage assistant for operations.

Engineers decide what gets built and build it. You shape their briefs with what you have learned in the rooms, then land the results: rolling tools out to each department and driving adoption until the new way of working sticks.

What you will do

Deliver our multi-session AI enablement course to corporate audiences of 15 to 30 people, in person and online.
Run live Claude demos and recover gracefully when technology misbehaves.
Facilitate hands-on exercises, unblocking participants in real time.
Learn each department's workflows and problems, and turn them into an opportunity map and build briefs for our engineers.
Roll out what ships, drive adoption, and feed what you see back to engineering.
Sharpen the curriculum after every delivery.

What we need

Teaching

At ease in front of groups of 15 or more, from any background: training, lecturing, coaching, presenting. You hold a room for four hours: energy, pacing, the sceptic, the derailer.

AI fluency

You work with Claude or similar daily and you have built with it: Skills, projects, custom workflows. You demo live, unscripted, and answer "will it do X" credibly.

Staying current

You try new models, features and tools the week they ship. What you teach is what works now.

Workflow thinking

You can sit with a department, see how the work actually gets done, and spot where AI changes it.

Follow-through

You stay with a team until the new way of working sticks.

Flexibility

You tailor examples on the fly for banking, retail, wealth management and other sectors, in person and online.

Location

Cape Town or Johannesburg, with travel to client sites as needed.

Nice to have

Sales engineering, consulting, business analysis or bootcamp instruction in your background.
You have taught technical content to non-technical people.

How we will assess you

Shortlisted candidates get a section of our workbook 48 hours before interview and deliver 20 minutes of it live, including a demo. Then a short brief on a fictional department and 15 minutes to work it: map the workflows, tell us what is a Skill and what is a custom build, and how you would get the team actually using it.
